What is Aloe Vera?

Aloe Vera is often called the "Natural Healer" due to its medicinal properties. Ancient records show that the benefits of Aloe Vera have been known for centuries. Its therapeutic advantages and healing properties have survived for more than 5000 years, as outlined below.

It is mentioned in an Egyptian papyrus dated 1500BC and Greek and Roman physicians used it to great effect as a medicinal herb. Also, Ancient Chinese and Indian cultures have records of using Aloe Vera, and Aloes are mentioned in The Bible.

Nowadays, although medicines and drugs can be very effective, long term use often involves side effects for patients. More consumers and scientists are therefore turning back to look at more traditional and often natural therapies, which have been neglected or forgotten.

As a result, Aloe Vera is once again attracting attention, and hardly a week goes by without the benefits of Aloe being highlighted in the health pages of major national newspapers.
